Thursday

handmade

There is a certain sense of satisfaction in working with my hands.  Crafting things that I love and putting all of my creative energy into the wool that I sculpt brings me closer to the natural course of life.  I think back to my grandmother when she use to knit her family of 9 their long pants and sweaters.  I still have the purple afghan she crocheted for me when we lived under the same roof in my late teens.  I am an old fashion woman and as much as I benefit from today`s technology I feel nostalgia for letters sent and received in the mail.  With the immediacy of e-mail I notice how seldom I use the phone to just say `Hi!``.  I romanticize living in the woods in a sustainable home in sync with nature.  Are you a person of the new millennium or do you dream of days past!

To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.
